CAROL MCLAUGHLIN QUARTET

  • Originally from Jamaica, Carol McLaughlin relocated to Buffalo in 1977
  • He has over 40 years of experience performing world wide
  • Quartet performs in smaller club settings
  • 17 Piece Big Band plays the classics of the Big Band Era
  • Carol has performed with Ruth Brown, Brook Benton, ZZ Hill, Johnny Mathis and Sammy Davis, Jr.
  • Recorded soundtrack for the movie “Smile Orange”  with Melba Liston
  • Carol has also performed with Buffalo Jazz Workshop, Al Tinney and Sam Falzone

  • Formed in 2002 when Dr. Joe Baudo retired as Coordinator of Music at Sweet Home Central Schools
  • They are also known as the Tuesday 12 to 2 Band because for years that was their rehearsal time at the Eldredge Bicycle Club in Tonawanda. They now rehearse at the Colored Musicians Club on Broadway
  • Members of the band have previously performed with Stan Kenton, Don Ellis, Tommy Dorsey and many other national big bands
  • Released CD entitled “The Joe Baudo Big Band (Tuesday 12 to 2)”

  • Both Dave and Jim are graduates of SUNY Fredonia music school
  • Dave previously performed with the USA Band and Back in Time and was music director for vocal musical theater productions
  • As Union musician, Jim backed up Aretha Franklin, Frankie Vallie and The Temptations and was a member of Hitmen Horns, Wendell Rivera’s Latin Jazz Allstars and Animal Planet
  • Jim released CD “My Funny Valentine” with saxophonist Ken Witman

  • Peggy Scalzo is drummer for the National Awarded American Legion Band of the Tonawandas and drummer for Dave Schiavone
  • Jennie Jones is leader of Jazzline and the band director for the Ladies First Jazz Big Band
